Her classmates at school called her Key, as in the key to a strange mystery. Key’s grandfather was a kindly old scientist wanting to use his skill in robotics to create peace and love in the world. But when that kindly old scientist passed away, poor Key was left behind, lacking even the ability to smile.
There still is hope, however - a message left behind for Key suggests a fantastic possibility. Could it really be possible for Key to become a real, live human, if she can only win the love of 30,000 people?

On top of that, the mysterious priest Prince Snake-Eye is convinced that Key’s unusual powers should be used for spiritual inspiration, not show business, and he and his followers to their best to sabotage Key’s efforts. Even so, a certain producer is intrigued… Meanwhile, Miho’s career holds dark secrets of it’s own, The experiments into robotic development being conducted by Miho’s management company through her concerts are only escalating, and Miho pays the price for each new innovation.

The same Ajo used the discovery to link Miho’s music to his own dreams of the perfect artificial being. But understanding the past doesn’t help Key and her friends avoid the deadly danger now presented by Ajo and his project - danger threatening both Key’s closest friends, and every member of the audience at a climactic Miho concert.
